Delirium Tremens was launched on 26 December 1989. The beer uses three different yeasts and is packaged in a bottle that is painted to resemble cologne ceramics. The label exemplifies different phases of the production of "Delirium Tremens" and that the "Pink Elephant" was up and ready to conquer the world.

Huyghe Brewery (Dutch: Brouwerij Huyghe) is a brewery founded in 1906 in Belgium by Leon Huyghe in city of Melle in East Flanders. The site of the brewery has been in operation since 1654. However, the brewery has been modernized and expanded on several occasions since the founding of Huyghe. The brewery's most well known beer is Delirium Tremens, a blonde, Belgian-style trippel. Huyghe has acquired several smaller Belgian breweries, including Brouwerij Biertoren in 1993, rouwerij Dam (nl) in 1994, and Brouwerij Villers in 1999.

The word Mongozo means ‘cheers!’ in the language of the Chokwe people of Africa. Mongozo beer is all about enjoyment to the full and particularly about its surprising unique flavours. Our beers are exotic: they have been developed using ingredients from exotic cultures. Some of the beers are based on traditional recipes and others are our own brew. There are five scintillating and exotic flavours available: Mango, Banana, Coconut, Quinua and Palmnut. In addition, Mongozo also produces a unique Fairtrade, organic and gluten-free premium pilsner. Mongozo is sold in exotic restaurants, at festivals, at beach bars and restaurants, in supermarkets and off-licences and in Third World aid shops. For an up-to-date overview of points of sale, go to ‘Availability’ to find a Mongozo hotspot near you.

People who suffer from coeliac disease have an intolerance of gluten, which can be found in many foods. Mongozo has developed a gluten-free lager, making it possible for people on a gluten-free diet to enjoy drinking beer. The brewing process for obtaining a gluten-free beer can vary, and in the case of Mongozo Premium Pilsner it involves the gluten being removed from the beer. This innovative technique ensures that the beer retains its lager flavour. A renowned laboratory checks each batch of beer brewed for the presence of gluten. The beer is then only sold if less than 10 ppm of gluten is detected and it can therefore be labelled as gluten-free. Mongozo Premium Pilsner is Certisys-certified for the use of certified-organic barley malt, rice and hops. The system of checks in place for the organic sector guarantees that products are genuinely organic. The approved label used by Mongozo is a European label issued by the Belgian Certisys inspection and certification body.

Mongozo Coconut is an exotic beer with the refreshing taste of coconut. The beer is brewed using Mongozo Quinua. The way to drink coconut beer is, of course, from a coconut shell.

However there is of course a glass, designed especially for Mongozo beer, for those who find this not to be pratctical. Mongozo Coconut's refreshing taste makes it an excelent accompaniment to exotic dishes. The beer carries the Fairtrade/Max Havelaar label and has an alcohol content of 3.6% by volume.

Mongozo Premium Pilsener

Mongozo Premium Pilsener elected as best gluten free lager.

Gluten intolerance is increasingly present in modern society and whoever suffers from it, is condemned to a life-long gluten-free diet. Fortunately you can already find quite some gluten free products on the market, including beer. It was only a matter of time before these beers would get their own contest. And so it occurred: the first edition of the World Gluten Free Beer Awards took place in the Italian Brescia on 16 November 2013. Brewery Huyghe’s Mongozo Premium Pilsener, that not only is gluten free, but also fairtrade and organic, won in the category ‘Best Gluten Free Lager’.
